Bespoke print-and-bind books, produced entirely by hand
Each custom book is a considered commission, produced one at a time using traditional bookbinding methods and archival materials chosen for longevity rather than convenience. Whether you are commissioning a printed and bound edition of your own manuscript or elevating a personal text into a handcrafted leather book,
I work directly with you to determine the structure, materials, and finish most appropriate for the content. The result is a book that honours both form and function, made to be read, handled, and kept for generations.
Please note: new commissions are currently scheduled from mid-2026.

Design & Materials
A bespoke commission begins with a design conversation. Together we consider the most appropriate materials and features for your book, rather than simply listing options upfront. Choices may include:
• Leather type and finish — from refined goat to hand-dyed calf
• Decorative endpapers inspired by historic bindings
• Titling and detailing, including foil stamping or subtle debossing
• Raised bands and ribbon markers where appropriate
These decisions are guided by the character of the text and how the book will be used over time, not by a fixed menu of choices.

Manuscript Preparation
To begin the process, I require a print-ready PDF laid out at the final trim size, with correct pagination and sufficient gutter margins. If you’re unsure how to prepare this, I can advise or assist with formatting for an additional fee.
Pricing & Commission Details
Each book is quoted individually based on size, page count, materials, and design complexity. As a reference:
• A leather-bound book with ~200 hand-sewn pages usually starts from £375.
• Additional features such as foil stamping or speciality leathers may adjust the price.
Final pricing is confirmed after an initial discussion and assessment of your requirements. Because each project is bespoke, a design consultation deposit is required to secure a commission slot. This deposit is credited toward the final cost once a project is confirmed.

A considered collaboration
This is not a service of mass production or off-the-shelf products. It is a limited, collaborative process focused on producing books of enduring quality and appropriate design. Each book reflects careful decisions about structure, materials, and finish — all tailored to the text and your intentions for it.
Frequently Asked Questions -
Can you print my book with a leather cover?
Yes — I offer a complete service where your manuscript is printed, folded into sections, and bound by hand in genuine leather. Whether it’s a memoir, novel, or personal project, you can turn your book into a beautifully crafted leather-bound edition.
Do I need to supply my book already printed?
No — you only need to provide a print-ready PDF. I handle the printing and binding from start to finish.
Can I customise the leather binding?
Absolutely. You can choose the leather type and colour, decorative endpapers (including marbled designs), and even add foil stamping or raised bands to the spine for a classic or antique look.
I’m always happy to provide a quick estimate based on the basic details you share — for example the book title, size, and binding style you’re interested in.
For more complex projects, especially where design elements are undecided or unusual materials are involved, I ask for a consultation deposit of £50. This covers up to an hour of design planning, material research, and correspondence.
The consultation deposit is deducted from the final price of your order if you go ahead. If you decide not to proceed, it isn’t refundable, but it ensures that the time and expertise I invest up front is fairly covered.
A further deposit is also required to secure a place in my production schedule. The deposit amount varies depending on the scale of the project, but it always covers materials and a portion of the binding work. The balance is due before delivery.
Is this suitable for self-published books?
Yes — if you’re an author looking to elevate your self-published work, a custom leather-bound version adds timeless value and makes an excellent gift or collector’s edition.
How much does it cost to print and bind my book in leather?
Prices start from £375 depending on the size and specifications of your book. Please contact me for a tailored quote.
Do you ship to the U.S. and worldwide?
Absolutely! Many of my clients are from the U.S. and around the world. I usually use UPS Express for delivery of books to overseas clients, they provide a fast and effective service.
